Behind Wyld Meridian

I’m Michael, an Australian photographer drawn to nature, wildlife, travel and the experiences that make us feel more connected to the world.

Photography gives me a reason to explore more carefully—to notice the light, details and fleeting moments that are easily missed. I’m especially interested in images that communicate more than appearance: the atmosphere of a landscape, the character of an animal or the feeling of arriving somewhere unfamiliar.

The name Wyld Meridian brings together two ideas at the heart of my photography. “Wyld” represents untamed places, nature and the freedom of exploration. “Meridian” represents geography, navigation and movement through the world.

I value honesty, patience and genuine connection. I want to observe carefully, work with the conditions in front of me and create photographs grounded in the experience of being there.

Wyld Meridian is at the beginning of its journey. I’m continuing to develop my craft, explore new places and build a body of work shaped by nature, movement, emotion and wonder.
